Rick Stein makes restaurant announcement as fans flock to support him

Rick Stein has issued an announcement to fans who flocked to support him on Instagram.
The celebrity chef, 78, shared a snap of himself operating a DJ booth with headphones plugged in, announcing that his Padstow restaurant had “transformed” for the night. He wrote: “What a great night Friday at The Seafood Restaurant was. Thanks to everyone involved for making it such fun.
“I couldn’t believe how transformed the restaurant was balloons and large 50s everywhere, my old surfboard in the conservatory still bearing the marks where I snapped the end off at Harlyn years ago and even an original Purple Tiger Discotheque ad on the front of the disco pointing out that it could be had for hire for £7.00 for the night.
“Loved all the merchandise and the celebratory cakes were truly outstanding. The overwhelming impression I took from it, though, was how much all the staff were enjoying it how and how excited that made the guests feel. Great food and even though I’m partly praising myself great entertainment! Well done everyone It does feel like a very special restaurant.”
The restaurant was celebrating its 50th birthday, with Rick hosting a special supper club for the occasion. His restaurant account explained: “Guests got to dance the night away with DJ Rick behind the decks.”
Fans couldn’t get enough of Rick’s latest post, with one gushing: “Absolutely brilliant. Wish I could’ve been there and requested a tune! Go Rickie.” Somebody else said: “Looks awesome, congratulations.” A third echoed: “DJ Ricky Stein on the 1s and 2s!”
It comes after the tragic news that one of Rick’s chefs was found dead in the staff quarters of his Padstow restaurant. Authorities were alerted to the death of a young man in his 30s who died on February 13, attending an address on Grenville Road in Padstow.
A representative for Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that the individual, believed to have been employed at The Cornish Arms in St Merryn, was pronounced dead at the location. His death is not considered suspicious, and his family has been notified.
An official statement read: "Police were called to Grenville Road, Padstow, at around 8pm on Thursday, February 13, following a concern for welfare for a man in a property. Sadly, a man in his 30s was declared deceased at the scene."
