Rod Stewart issues urgent six-word warning to Starmer after heated Trump and Zelensky row

Singer Sir Rod Stewart has issued an urgent plea to Prime Minister Keir Starmer after he met with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. Sharing a picture of the two outsider No1 Downing Street, he wrote on his Instagram Story: "Proud to be British. Well done Starmer in welcoming Zelensky to the number 10. We must keep supporting the Ukrainians. Sir Rod." It comes after Starmer issued a statement on "standing with the Ukrainians" after Zelensky's heated meeting with US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

A statement from No 10 said: "The Prime Minister has tonight spoken to both President Trump and President Zelensky. He retains unwavering support for Ukraine, and is doing all he can to find a path forward to a lasting peace based on sovereignty and security for Ukraine. The Prime Minister looks forward to hosting international leaders on Sunday including President Zelensky."

Zelensky was allegedly kicked out of the White House after negotiations with Trump broke down on camera, with the President branding the leader "disrespectful," while Vance claimed Zelensky had "never thanked them" for giving the country aid during their war against Russia.

Trump added: "You wouldn’t be a tough guy without us."

The leaders met in the Oval Office on Friday as the two nations were set to sign a deal which would give the US access to rare minerals in exchange for further military aid.

But after the heated disagreement between the two presidents, the agreement was not signed.

In front of cameras, Trump warned Zelensky he is "gambling with World War Three" while Zelensky hit back to say the US would "feel it in the future" if it did not support Ukraine against Russia.
