Proper news from Britain - News from Britain you won’t find anywhere else. Not the tosh the big media force-feed you every day!

Follow Mail Sport's live blog as Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr face off in the YouTuber-turned boxer's eagerly-anticipated return to action.

JAKE PAUL WINS

The ludges scored the bout 99-91, 97-93, 98-92 in Jake Paul's favour to see him beat Chavez Jr at the Honda Center!

ROUND 10

Both men gave it everything in the final round. Chavez Jr looking to finish the contest early but Paul refusing to back down. The 27 years old, clearly tired, continued to throw. However, he walked onto a right hand late into the round before taking an overhand right to the face. That being said, I looked like Paul may have done enough to pip it. Especially after those early rounds...

ROUND 9

Chavez Jr was one unhappy camper in round nine - complaing of a low blow (again). He took his revenge with a left hook followed by a right hand. Paul took it well (again).

Have to say, the YouTuber-turned-boxer is responding well to some of the shots and he's not afraid to go toe-to-toe in the exchange. The Mexican fans were convienced the fight was going to end in the ninth as Chavez Jr finished the round off with several eye-catching shots.

ROUND 8

A fight in the stands broke out in the eighth round. Potentially more thrown by the fans than those in the ring? The other supporters in the Honda Center were certainly interested.

However, it was almost like Paul and Chavez Jr realised - turning up the heat. Chavez Jr continued to target the body, landing some punishing shots.

He followed up with a powerful left hook to the body. Paul took it well and responded with a nicely timed uppercut.

ROUND 7

Some clumsy footwork at the start of the seventh round almost left Paul exposed, however, Chavez Jr wasn't able to capitalise. Paul continued to throw more throughout the round but wasn't causing any real damage.

It's clear both men are starting to tire. Their mouths are open, they're clinching more, their biding their time. Only three more rounds to go.

ROUND 6

Half way through and it's all to play for. Paul seen targeting the body in the sixth round of the fight before landing a lovely uppercut with just over two minutes left on the clock.

Chavez connected well on the looping left hand shortly after but it didn't seem to bother Paul... despite bouncing right off his cheekbone.

The pair went toe-to-toe towards the end of the round, exchanging in the corner before the bel. Looks like we have more of a fight on our hands now.

ROUND 5

Paul opened the round with a right hand but a lovely left-right from Chavez stunned the YouTuber-turned-boxer. Paul was quick to clinch and take a moment to recover. Chavez followed up with a strong overhand right with a minute left on the clock.

Has Chanvez Jr finally woken up? About time.

ROUND 4

Paul seen doubling up the jab in the first 30 seconds of the fight. Chavez Jr keeping a high guard. As a result, Paul looked downstairs - throwing to the body before returning to the head. Chavez Jr responded well with an overhand right. Chavez Jr's best round so far... but that's not hard considering the first 3.

ROUND 3

Paul contunued to have the higher output in the third round of the fight, landing a combination in the opening 30 seconds (looking to finish with the uppercut once again).

Fans are questioning whether Chavez Jr will be pulled out after a couple of rounds... but I think it's a little early (and extreme) for that! That being said, Chavez Snr is furious ringside - shouting at his son to wake up.

ROUND 2

Paul started round two off with a combination but failed to plant his feeting, almost leaving himself exposed. Chavez Jr failed to take advantage, staying behind a high guard. Paul continued to come forward, looking to land his right hand but struggling with his distance. Meanwhile, it took a whole two rounds for Chavfez Jr to throw his first punch.

Paul looked to finish the round with a devestating uppercut but didn't quite connect. It got the fans even more excited though!

ROUND 1

Neither man looking to commit in the first round, feeling each other out with Paul taking the centre of the ring and touching with the jab. It was Paul who landed the first big shot of the fight, getting the fans excited with a strong right hand. The rounded ended with Chavez Jr complaining to the ref with 15 seconds on the clock - claiming the YouTuber-turned-boxer was aiming for the back of his head.

Breaking:Jake Paul plays Mail Sport's Knockout game...

Jake Paul doesn't want to be the bad guy?

What's perhaps most telling ahead of the Chavez Jr fight is not Paul's talk of tactics or weight cuts or even belts, it's the way he talks about perception. For years, he's been cast as boxing's pantomime villain, a role he once embraced. But at 27, the act appears to be evolving.

'As I get older I don't necessarily want to be that villain I have been painted as. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I still enjoy being that s***head at times. I was always the class clown so I can play into that but there [are] people that read deeper into what it is that I am doing know that drama sells.

'People made me into the villain and hated on me since I first started YouTube so I kind of had to embrace it. I think the tide is changing though. 50 per cent of the people out there in the world see me for the person I am. It's the people who just read the headlines and the clickbait that compile this hatred and jealousy towards me.'

Jake Paul's family are always close...

Jake Paul build's his perfect fighter...

Jake Paul's secret to staying focused...

To stay focused, Paul has learned to shut the world out. Sometimes literally. 'I used to get a brand new phone before every fight, as there is people nagging you all the time. I've stopped getting a new phone but I don't respond to people.

'There is so much attention being pulled away from the main goal and the main focus and you don't even realise it. You don't realise how tiring being on your phone and being on social media is. So, I'll go put my phone in a drawer and raw dog life.'

Larry Wade on Jake Paul's training regime...

Wade told DAZN: 'If you can give me 100 push-ups straight, that means not only do you have the strength you need, but you also have the conditioning to support it. That means when it's time to throw hands, you ain't gotta take a break.'

He went on to add: 'That said, the workout Jake talks about the most is the 800, 400, 200, 200 workout,' says Wade. 'He'll run 800m, then 400, then 200m and another 200, all with a minute of rest [in between].

'Depending on where we are in camp, we can do that a minimum of two times to a maximum of four times.'

Who does Jake Paul think the GOAT is?

Jake Paul reveals brutal training regime for Chavez Jr...

Preparation has become an obsession for Paul. He recently spent time at a $39million ranch he purchased with the proceeds from his Mike Tyson fight, where he built a pop-up gym to refresh his camp.

'We were mostly training in Puerto Rico but we've been training there for five years so I wanted to change it up a bit for a week or two,' Paul says. 'I went to my investment property, built a pop-up gym and did a bit of training there. It was a nice change of pace.'

Day to day, the grind is brutal. Under strength and conditioning coach Larry Wade, Paul's regime is relentless. 'Training with Larry Wade is very intense and very tough. He's psychotic. He listens to Halloween, killer, intense music before going into the training to rile himself up and then he projects that onto you. It's like Michael Myers theme song.

'It's very intense and we usually have to pass mile stones like 100 unbroken press ups and 1,000 abs crunches at different points in the camp. It gives you a baseline so you know where you're at and what you're capable of. Especially when you head into the fight you know you're ready and can think of those milestones.'

What did you make of their final face off?

Logan Paul has arrived to support Jake!

Chavez Jr weighed in at career heaviest, while Paul came down from heavyweight...

Both fighters made weight for this evening's bout. Jake Paul came down in weight after beating Mike Tyson at Heavyweight, while Chavez Jr weighed in at a career heaviest. Some were worried he may have missed weight... having done so mulitple times in the past. Take a look at how Jake Paul shaped up HERE.

Jake Paul on mental side of boxing ...

Paul's obsession with the mental side of boxing has grown in tandem with his ambition. While most fighters work on their world-title goals in quiet, Paul declares his loudly and unapologetically.

'When you're putting those sound vibrations into the universe you're actually making that reality happen faster,' he says. 'So, the faster you put your goals out to the world the faster they will come to you. It's a simple law of attraction.

'I've been doing it since I was young. It works. You have to be a believer too. Some people just expect things to happen though, but you have to put in the work for things to happen as well.'

Fight week has been nothing short of entertaining...

Jake Paul on what will happen in the ring tonight...

Paul told Mail Sport that what happens in the ring this eveing has already been written, at least in his mind.

'I do that visitation ceremony before every fight,' he explains. 'I go into the corner of the ring. I sit exactly where I will be on fight night, and I start the process. It's breath work, meditation, and visualisation all mixed into one. It can get pretty intense.

'I'm very big on manifestation and creating images in your head of the result you want to happen and seeing yourself executing it. It means when you're actually in the room the synapses fire faster and you're actually calling in a higher reality.

'It's also all about getting in touch with God and clearing out any negative energy. You have to align your mind because boxing is arguably more mental than it is physical. Not being able to manage your emotions and fear is not good for the sport.'

Jake Paul has a job to do... but who does he want next if he beats Chavez Jr?

What about Julio Cesar Chavez Jr?

The Mexican has enjoyed world title success at middleweight and has shared the ring with pound-for-pound star Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Someone who Jake is hoping to face in the future...
