Arsenal could be set to play a key role in Liverpool's pursuit of Alexander Isak. The Reds are keen to acquire the services of the Newcastle star this summer and have already seen a £110million bid rejected for the striker. Arne Slot’s side remain determined to sign the Swedish international nevertheless.
But there are suggestions that Liverpool will only table a fresh bid for Isak if they receive some form of encouragement that the Magpies will sell the player. Newcastle are insistent that they have no intention of letting their No. 14 leave, but if they are able to bring in a replacement then their stance is likely to weaken. Brentford will then decide whether to proceed with an official opening offer once they gauge the level of interest in the move from the 30-year-old.
If Arsenal were to allow Trossard to depart, it could be one of the most influential moves in the summer transfer window simply because of the domino effect it is likely to have. If he were to head to Brentford, Wissa could be granted his move to Newcastle, which may therefore reopen talks between the Magpies and Liverpool for Isak.
