A Good Morning Britain presenter has revealed he is leaving the programme as ITV presses ahead with extensive cost-cutting initiatives.
News correspondent Will Godley has been a crucial part of the breakfast show's reporting squad for the last four years, delivering updates from venues across the country.
However, on Friday, Will announced his time on the ITV programme, which recently left one host close to tears, would be coming to an end - following his appointment to a new role with GB News.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, to make the revelation, Will said: "JOB NEWS. Thrilled to be starting as a National Reporter at @GBNEWS in September!
"That means I'm sadly saying goodbye to @GMB after 4 wonderful years. A huge thanks to the brilliant team, who even made the nightshifts amazing. Really excited to get stuck in at GB News!"
From January 2026, ITV's daytime schedule will undergo major timetable changes, reports The Mirror.
Good Morning Britain will be stretched by thirty minutes to run from 6am until 9.30am daily, reports the Mirror.
However, show Lorraine, which airs directly afterwards, has been slashed in half and will broadcast for just thirty minutes from 9.30, rather than a complete hour.
The programme will also only air for 30 weeks per year, with Good Morning Britain running until 10am during the weeks when it's off air. This Morning will maintain its usual 10am-12.30pm weekday slot throughout the year, while Loose Women will persist in the 12.30-1.30pm time slot.
However, akin to Lorraine, the panel programme will also air for just 30 weeks per year.
News of Will's departure comes only months after it was revealed that US correspondent Noel Phillips had been axed from the programme.
Deadline reported that he has been ousted from his role on the show as ITV aims to cut £15 million from its budget. The reporter joined the programme in 2021 as a US correspondent, covering numerous significant stories, including the US elections and LA wildfires.
Following the announcement of his dismissal, Noel appeared on the ITV programme - discussing the moment he was swindled out of his entire life savings, amounting to nearly $30,000.
"I'm still in disbelief," he confessed to the presenters. "I remember two weeks ago I was lying on the kitchen floor numb, refusing to accept the fact I did something so stupid.
"I felt embarrassed, I felt ashamed, I felt worthless. On top of that, the excruciating pain of all of this is the mental trauma.
"How could someone like me who reports stories like this fall a victim? How could this happen to me?", Noel found himself pondering.
Good Morning Britain is available to watch on ITVX.
