Antiques Road Trip experts Paul Laidlaw and Margie Cooper locked horns yet again in a previous episode of the BBC valuation programme. Beginning their journey in Lincolnshire, they set their sights on North Yorkshire with an auction destination in Harrogate. Margie's expedition to a supposedly haunted antiques emporium saw her attempting to make contact with spirits from beyond. Yet it wasn't the supernatural shenanigans that created friction during the evening.
Opening the programme with Paul behind the wheel, he remarked: "I don't know much about it, airfields! Lincs, East Coast. I've got to bring the war up." Margie then taunted: "Oh, don't, you're not going to start with all this war stuff!".
Paul then responded: "My tactic is... but you won't. I'm sure this won't upset you. I will just be hovering behind ready to snatch. Is that the best you can do?".
Margie shot back: "Don't you dare! Don't you dare."
Paul was pursuing military memorabilia and discovered some rather intriguing treasures. Nevertheless, Margie was far from delighted upon learning Paul was targeting wartime collectables.
Paul revealed: "We may end up in the same shop this morning. I'm talking about militaria."
Margie then scoffed: "Sniffing around! Oh no! Please! You're not still buying that old rubbish, are you?" Arriving at the venue brimming with antiques, Margie described it as comprising four distinct centres. Paul then declared: "Shall we divide and conquer? I'll just abandon you by the roadside!".
Whilst browsing inside and acquiring their pieces covertly, Margie deliberately encountered Paul, mocking: "Oh, looks very good in here..." Paul shrieked: "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Are you familiar with the concept of trespassing? I thought you were.."
Margie then fired back: "I am allowed to go where I want to! I was told!".
Paul then retorted: "What is this? An interrogation? You come in here and interrogate me!" Naturally, the duo's spat was all part of the programme's entertainment. Despite their row, the specialists maintained a good rapport throughout the remainder of the episode before proceeding to auction.
Antiques Road Trip returns tomorrow on BBC Two at 5.15pm.
