BBC's beloved programme Antiques Roadshow returned to screens with a fresh horde of guests hoping to secure an impressive valuation on their most treasured items. Just minutes into the West Yorkshire episode, expert Ronnie Archer Morgan admitted he was blown away after coming across an American Powder Horn. The appraiser who specialises in the miscellaneous section of the show was instantly intrigued by the horn and instantly asked the guest: "I really like this, and I'm really curious to know what made you bring that to the roadshow?" To which, the owner admitted: "I'm fascinated by the Wild West, so when I see something like this which I think came from America, I like it."

Ronnie then confirmed her assumption and explained: "It's a powder horn and it's a cowhorn. This is a fabulous thing, I think it's stunning." As he picked and analysed the item, the expert added: "It's the sense of design and the way it's executed. I've never seen such high relief on an American Powder Horn." After she revealed that she paid £90 for the item, Ronnie said: "I've never seen one with relevant colour ... this is very curious, I've never seen that."

As for the valuation of the horn, which was dubbed a “fabulous thing,” Ronnie said: “I think it would be estimated at £1500 to £2000.”

Taken aback by the amount, the guest instantly exclaimed: “What!” She was speechless, breathed a sharp sigh of disbelief, and shook her head.

After finally finding the words, she let out: “Good heavens,” to which the expert added: “It’s one of the best I’ve ever seen.”

As the owner questioned: “Really?” She added: “I’m absolutely thrilled,” and while thanking Ronnie, she received a heartwarming applause from the audience crowded around them.

During an explanation of the horn, the expert spoke on its colour and questioned: "I don't know whether it's waxed or whether it's lacquer, this would have been colourful.

He added: "It would have been garish originally; this would have been bright green, like emerald green."

Pointing out a key part of the horn, the expert revealed: "In the end, there, we've got a picture of a woman in a big hat," to which the guest confessed: "I didn't know that."

Ronnie explained: "There's her face, there's her shoulders, and it's set in under the transparent horn, and I just wondered if it's a kind of pin-up that the hunter carried this pin-up because it looks like a printed image.

"One can't tell, and you'll never take it out, you can't. This is very curious, I've never seen that," he remarked.
