Noni Madueke is undergoing scans after injuring his right knee during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
The winger was seen clutching his right knee towards the end of the first half of the game and was replaced at half-time by Bukayo Saka.
An update on the scan is expected on Tuesday during Mikel Arteta’s press conference ahead of Arsenal’s third round Carabao Cup against League One side Port Vale.
There have been fears Madueke has suffered an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) but sources close to the club insist the winger is still undergoing tests to find out how long he will be sidelined.
The Gunners will be praying for good news on Madueke, who has been one of their shining stars since signing from Chelsea over the summer.

The north London club have already been hit hard with injuries, Kai Havertz having undergone knee surgery last month.
Saka returned to the Arsenal bench on Sunday after missing four weeks with a hamstring injury, but captain Martin Odegaard is on the sidelines again after aggravating a shoulder problem that was first picked up in August.
