Isabel Webster has opened up about ditching her long-term co-host Eamonn Holmes and GB News as she launches her new podcast.

The presenter, 42, had hosted the channel's breakfast programme with Eamonn, 65, since 2022 before suddenly being 'axed' in December last year.

It was previously reported Isabel had left GB News after her relationship with the channel's bosses turned sour during contract negotiations.

She was replaced on the channel's breakfast show by 32-year-old Ellie Costello, dubbed as the organisation's 'own Holly Willoughby'.

Now, Isabel has spoken about her departure and the end of her working relationship with veteran anchor Eamonn as she launches her podcast New Chapters.

The mum-off-two said: 'I had been finding the news agenda increasingly divisive and depressing - alarmingly dominated by authoritarian men, like Trump and Putin.'

She continued: 'Taking a year away has transformed my health and my outlook.

'With New Chapters I want to share conversations that uplift and inspire others to embrace change, however daunting it may feel.'

Since coming off air, Isabel has shed an impressive one-and-a-half stone.

Guests appearing on Isabel's new podcast include former Sky Sports presenter Kirsty Gallacher, designer to Princess Diana Amanda Wakeley OBE and ex-Real Housewife Tessa Hartmann CBE.

At the time of Isabel's exit from GB News, she was reportedly refusing to increase her working days from three to five.

Insiders said she 'wasn't happy' that the channel's senior chiefs were expecting her to increase her days on-screen from three to five a week and 'refused to bow to demands'.

'It had become a sticking point in negotiations and was causing tension behind the scenes,' an insider told The Sun.

'Eamonn's obviously the main star of the show and likes to be in charge - he's now looking forward to working with Ellie who's a young talent he can help mould as her career progresses.'

Responding to these claims at the time, A GB News spokesman said: 'This is completely untrue.'

Isabel returned to screens in recent months, appearing on Vanessa Feltz's Channel 5 show where she spoke about Eamonn Holmes' health woes.

Eamonn, 65, has been plagued by health battles in recent years after undergoing surgery on his back in 2022, which left him reliant on a walking frame or wheelchair.

Reflecting on their time together at GB News, Vanessa Feltz asked Isabel: 'And did you have fun working with Eamonn Holmes, would you call that, is that a way of describing it, fun, or was it quite tough?'

Isabel replied warmly: 'Eamonn Holmes is a very funny man, actually, got a very Irish sense of humour, but he is literally an example of what happens when you get up at three in the morning for your entire TV career.'

Her comment drew laughter from Vanessa and the panel, though Isabel quickly clarified her meaning. 'Well he says it himself!

'No, no, no - he would say it himself. It's extremely tough on the body and, as we all know, he's got a few problems at the moment.'

She previously worked with Eamonn when they co-hosted Sky News' Sunrise together before he left the channel in 2016.

Isabel, who is married to husband Liam Pearce and have two children - left the rolling news station the following year.

The first episodes of New Chapters are available from 10th September on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and all major platforms
