It has been reported that Bad Sisters will not return for a third series on Apple TV+. The popular show, which first aired in 2022 and stars Sharon Horgan, is not expected to come back to our screens, according to The Sun. They also reported that Sharon has moved to a rival channel, HBO, and signed a new deal. A TV insider said to the publication: “Many viewers who watched the first couple of series felt like the story reached a natural conclusion anyway, but of course, they hoped there’d be more.

"With every passing month, it seemed less and less likely, and now the show has been shelved by Apple completely. It’s not a huge shock, but it’s still a big disappointment for fans. It’s a particularly sad state of affairs because it was one of the few comedies in recent years that seem to have cut through with audiences, and many will be sad to see how short lived it is.”

During the second season, Horgan returned alongside Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene, and Eve Hewson, with new additions such as Fiona Shaw, Owen McDonnell, Thaddea Graham, Barry Ward, and Peter Claffey.

The award-winning series follows the lives of the Garvey sisters, who are portrayed by Sharon Horgan as Eva, Anne-Marie Duff as Grace, Eva Birthistle as Ursula, Sarah Greene as Bibi, and Eve Hewson as Becka.

The critically acclaimed show is known for its blend of dark comedy and thriller. Series one focuses on the sisters who attempt to kill a monstrous husband, and it proved to be a hit, receiving 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.

One person reacted to the news on X about the show's axing, writing: "Oh no, that's such a shame! Really enjoyed that show."

Another who watched the first season when it aired in 2022 left a review on IMDb, saying: "I watched the first episode and was a little hesitant to keep watching but gave it a shot anyway. By the second and third episode I was hooked.."

A third similarly echoed: "A gem. Bad Sisters is brilliantly realised in every detail, starting with its crackingly good script." A third also typed: "In your face and borderline offensive. I loved it. I had no expectations but after two episodes, I'm loving this series. Give it a try, you'll love it. Dark comedies with a tinge of drama are my favorites. A+!"
