Actor Jabir Imanov has died at the age of 49 after having a heart attack while at the gym. Although an ambulance was called and paramedics attempted to revive him for 20 minutes, he was pronounced dead following the incident on September 29. Eyewitness Elvin Elkhan, a journalist, shared details of the tragedy on his social media accounts. "He entered the hall, sat down a few minutes later and fell. I suffered the biggest trauma of my life. For the first time, I witnessed someone's death. The man who was the most wonderful training partner. May God have mercy on him!" he wrote.
The Azerbaijani star is best known for his role as Eliş in the hit series Mahalla. In 2015 he had been awarded the title of Honored Artist in his native Azerbaijan for his work. In 2021, he was awarded the Tereggi Medal, which is the state award of Azerbaijan Republic.
Tributes flooded in for the much loved star as the news broke with fans paying tribute on Facebook.

A fifth lamented: "Oh my God. How I don't want to believe the news of his death. Life is so unpredictable."
A sixth concurred with thias admitting they too were shocked by the news commenting: "I couldn't believe it when I read about his death this morning. But that's life... "
The actor had been married twice and had three children. His second marriage was to Zara Imanova who often appeared at events with her husband.
