James Martin has shared a heartfelt message to TV fans in a new video after losing out on an award at this year's National Television Awards. The chef's ITV show, Saturday Morning, was nominated in the Daytime category at this year's NTAs, which took place on 10 September at The O2 Arena in London.
James' cooking programme was shortlisted along with This Morning, Loose Women and Scam Interceptors, but This Morning walked away with the award. "I just want to say thank you to everyone that voted at the NTAs. What a special night," James told his fans in the clip shared to his Instagram account. "Congrats to This Morning winning Best Daytime. It was amazing to be shortlisted in the final four."
James could be seen busy at work in a kitchen in the clip, with the TV star sporting a striped apron as he revealed he was back to "the day job".
"But back to the routine. Back to the day job. Thank you to everybody that's voted. Thank you!" he concluded his social media message.
Fans flocked to share their support, with one writing: "Winning next year!!!!" while another penned: "Same time again next year James. You’re the best to us all, don’t forget that."
A third fan said: "You’re welcome - be back again next year," and someone else pointed out that Saturday Morning is the first cookery show to be nominated in the NTAs' Daytime category, highlighting how "amazing" the show is.
James attended Wednesday evening's National Television Awards alongside his girlfriend Kim Johnson, with the pair walking the red carpet together.
James began dating Kim, a personal trainer, after splitting from his girlfriend of 12 years Louise Davies. He and Louise, a TV producer, began dating in 2011 but split in 2023.
Meanwhile, Kim was previously married to Arun Nayar, ex-husband of Elizabeth Hurley, but the couple separated in 2017.
