Actor John Alford targeted the two young girls, who were both under the age of 16, after buying them alcohol, St Albans Crown Court heard. The 53-year-old has been found guilty of sexually assaulting girls aged 14 and 15 at a friend's home.
Alford – whose real name is John Shannon – allegedly had sex with one of the girls in a garden and a toilet. The court heard how he also performed a sex act on another teenager and was “in no doubt” that both girls were underage. He denied four counts of sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl and two counts relating to a second, aged 15, of sexual assault and assault by penetration.
The court heard all of the offences took place on April 9, 2022.
The jury convicted Alford of all charges today (Friday, September 5) following a week-long trial and more than 13 hours of deliberations.
When the verdicts were read out in court, Alford put his head in his hand and yelled: "Wrong, I didn't do this!"
The jury heard the actor sexually assaulted the girls while they were drunk following a night out at a pub.
Every offence happened at the home of a third girl whose father was friends with the defendant.
Alford bought £250 worth of alcohol, cigarettes and food from a nearby petrol station in the early hours of the morning, which included a bottle of vodka which the victims drank.
