Alfred Gough, co-creator and showrunner, revealed season three will challenge the cast and crew even more, hinting at cameos from additional Addams Family favourites.
He told Netflix's Tudum: "Our goal for season three is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can.
"We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday."
Miles Millar, co-creator, added: "We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in season three."
One of the key family members who has yet to make a personal appearance is Cousin Itt.
The character, notorious for being shrouded in lengthy, unkempt hair, was created exclusively for the 1964 television series but evolved into a recurring supporting character in subsequent adaptations.
He is distinguished by his hirsute look and his bowler hat, and communicates in high-pitched nonsense that only his relatives can comprehend.
Cousin Itt was presented in the original TV series as Gomez's cousin, and in Netflix's Wednesday, one of his forebears features in a painting at Nevermore Academy. The portrait bears the title "Ignatius Itt", named after Nathaniel Faulkner's trusted aide who established Nevermore Academy.
Fascinatingly, he was renowned for pursuing a courtship with Morticia's sibling, Ophelia Frump, who is set to appear in the programme's third series following her reveal in the second season's climax.
