An adult male allegedly used falsified papers and a fake identification to enroll in a Minnesota high school and play football.

White Bear Lake High School Principal Russell Reetz confirmed in a letter to parents on Tuesday that an individual 'over the age of 21' had slipped through the school district's safeguards to enroll at the school.

Reetz did not name the suspect in his letter, but students who spoke with Alpha News identified the man as Kelvin Luebke, 22, who claimed to be a senior at the high school and went by the name 'KJ.'

He also appeared on the roster for the school's football team, and there are at least two online profiles for a college recruiting site with Luebke's name saying he was graduating in 2023 and 2024 from different high schools in Minnesota.

In his letter to parents, Principal Reetz said school officials 'received reports that an individual enrolled at WBLAS was over the age of 21 and promptly started an investigation.'

He insisted that 'while enrolling this individual, we followed our enrollment process, which is as rigorous as state law allows,' the Minnesota Star-Tribune reports.

'This individual appears to have provided fraudulent documentation and a false identity to enroll,' he explained.

'We are continuing to investigate the situation and we are working closely with the White Bear Lake Police Department, which is also conducting an investigation.'

Principal Russell Reetz said school officials 'received reports that an individual enrolled at WBLAS was over the age of 21 and promptly started an investigation'

'Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of of all students is our top priority,' the principal concluded, noting that the discovery was made by 'staff members, families and students who saw something and decided to report it.'

Without saying whether Luebke posed a potential danger to students, Reetz assured parents that the school district takes 'appropriate steps... any time there is a potential threat to student safety.'

But parents told Fox 9 they believe Luebke may have been preying on female students, and are demanding accountability from school officials.

'He was allowed in the locker room with the football players. He was allowed in activities with these kids and just so many safeguards were missed,' said April Jorgenson, a mother of three.

'I think the school needs to make huge changes and they need to apologize to us  and make sure that we know our kids are safe here.'

Others questioned how Luebke was allowed to gain access to the school.

'How can someone even forge all of this without the school knowing?' Michaela Ross asked KTSP.

'Where's the trust? How are we supposed to trust and rely that you're actually going to take care of our kids if something like this happened.'

'I thought it was safe, you know,' another mother told the outlet. 'And clearly it's not.'

'If someone can come into the school and pretend to be 17 years old and they're 22 and this individual had spoken to my daughter and my niece - it was just really scary.

'You know, you don't know who you're sending them to school with anymore and you should know, and we should be able to feel safe and confident when we send them out,' she added.

Luebke was taken into custody on Sunday morning and is now being held in Anoka County Jail on charges of theft and lewdness.

He has also been banned from any school district property.
