Big Brother has been pulling out all the stops this series and one of the biggest twists was when Sam Ashby was fake evicted before being sent into a secret room with returning housemates Emily Hewertson and Farida Khalifa to spy on the others and later making an epic comeback through a mirror in the bedroom.
Sam’s certainly been in the thick of the Big Brother 2025 chaos, from narrowly avoiding eviction on the first night to making no secret of his crush on Zelah Glasson (and getting into bed with him), but this isn’t his first reality TV rodeo.
It turns out that Sam previously appeared on a dating show, although we almost didn’t recognise him.

Following his appearance on Big Brother, it’s come to light that Sam took part in MTV dating show Love Squad back in 2019.
Love Squad was hosted by Charlotte Dawson and featured singletons enlisting the help of their best pals to find them a date. Sam appeared in one episode as a potential love interest for a singleton called Martin, although he sadly didn’t get picked to go on the date.
Sam had a noticeably different look during his appearance on Love Squad, with shorter hair and fuller lips. When asked on the show how he might spend £1000, he joked, “Probably get more filler.”
The singer and Zumba instructor opened up about taking part in the show back in 2020 in an interview with Spill the Tea mag. He revealed, ‘That was so random, reality TV is my guilty pleasure and I was approached to be on the show so I thought why not? I’d definitely do more in the future, I have a pretty fun personality and would love my own show one day.’
Now that he’s done Big Brother, who knows what’s next?
