Celebrity Traitors star Alan Carr has been left rather unimpressed after discovering he had been "axed" from a TV show.

Funnyman Alan has been a staple on screens for years, thanks to stints on shows like The Friday Night Project, Alan Carr: Chatty Man and Ru Paul's Drag Race UK.

Currently, he is taking part in BBC's smash hit Celebrity Traitors. Having captured the hearts of the nation when the civilian series first aired in 2022, the beloved murder mystery gameshow has returned better than ever.

Alan has joined the likes of Stephen Fry, Clare Balding, Cat Burns and Lucy Richardson for the spin-off show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, reports the Daily Record.

On the programme, the famous faces play for the chance to win up to £100,000 for their chosen charities by trying to banish all of the Traitors in the iconic Scottish castle.

However, recently Alan seemed to find out for the first time that he had been 'axed' from one of his shows that he presents - and he was not too happy about it. Talking to fellow comedian John Richardson on Alan's podcast Life's a Beach, John revealed that he is spending his birthday filming Celebrity Bullseye.

"Who's hosting that now? Because I used to host that," Alan asked. John then replied: "Freddie Flintoff," leaving Alan in shock. Turning to the camera, he declared: "I've been axed!".

An awkward John cringed as he apologised and said: "Oh I'm sorry," as Alan jokingly fumed: "I did that! F*****g cheek. I used to do that. I've been axed!" He continued: "What a way to find out. From my frenemy!"

Alan was alluding to his ITV series, Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow, which brought back classic game shows from yesteryears - including Bullseye. John retorted: "You did all the quizzes, you tried to steal every TV quiz." To which Alan responded: "Yeah ok I'll let Fred do it."

Alan is currently featuring in the inaugural series of Celebrity Traitors on BBC One. The television personality was selected as one of three Traitors by presenter Claudia Winkleman, alongside Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns.

It's safe to say the show has quickly become one of the year's television highlights and a ratings hit. The programme has attracted more than 11.7 million viewers since its debut earlier this month.
