Eagle-eyed Celebrity Traitors fans have been left raging at 'criminal' BBC bosses hitting out they have 'spoiled the series' thanks to a behind-the-scenes choice.

The popular reality gameshow, which returned with its first ever instalment for famous faces earlier this month, has already rolled out four episodes since its debut.

It's seen three celebrities brutally murdered by the Traitors, chat show host Jonathan Ross, comedian Alan Carr and singer Cat Burns, and three more Faithful stars banished at the round table.

While the series has proved itself to be a big hit so far, pulling in the show's largest ever audience with 11.7 million tuning in for the launch, not everyone is happy with the roll out of the episodes.

The civilian version of the series previously ran on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings at 9pm on BBC One, giving fans three chances to tune in each week.

But the Celebrity Traitors has only been airing twice a week, on Wednesday and Thursday nights, missing out on the coveted primetime Friday slot.

It was confirmed by the BBC earlier this week, too, that while the civilian version normally airs for 12 episodes, the spin-off will feature nine episodes finishing on November 6 with a special 70-minute episode.

The Friday night slot has instead been dished out to comedian Steve Coogan, with his new series How Are You? It's Alan (Partridge) part of a roster of a number of comedy shows filling the slot.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans were left raging at the new schedule, with one writing: 'Two episodes a week is criminal, seriously.'

A second chimed in: 'Why is the celebrity version following a different schedule? It seemed like they were stretching the action out across more episodes as well?'

'That's the only thing that spoils it for me is only two episodes a week, I want it boom, boom boom,' a third agreed, while a fourth said: 'Boo, should be on three times week, two is not enough!'

The BBC confirmed the mammoth viewing figures for the Celebrity Traitors this week, following its launch show last Wednesday on BBC One.

The series has broken its own viewership record, and taken over all BBC unscripted series' since 2022 to take the most-watched title.

Around ten million viewers watched the first episode of the most recent non-celebrity series of The Traitors, clocking up 5.4 million tuning in live.

While the new series welcomed almost 12 million viewers, with over half of the show's fans tuning in to watch the first episode on live TV.

According to the BBC, the first episode of Celebrity Traitors saw 6.5 million live viewers, with 52.7 per cent of households and their televisions switched on tuning in.

The series beat the likes of Strictly Come Dancing and Gladiators.

It's been confirmed that there are seven more episodes to come, with the series set to conclude on Thursday, November 6.

The BBC hit sees players secretly divided into Faithfuls and Traitors.

The Faithfuls have to try and root out the Traitors before they're murdered one by one, while the Traitors attempt to manipulate their way to the end without being caught.

Millions tuned in to watch Claudia Winkleman, 53, choose this year’s traitors, who were selected as chat show host Jonathan Ross, comedian Alan Carr, and singer Cat Burns.

They were immediately given the task to ‘murder’ one of the Faithful in plain sight by using the pollen of a poison lily and touching someone’s face.

Only Love Can Hurt Like This singer Paloma Faith was their first victim, and her 'death' was revealed in a twisted game where she was placed in a coffin.

After the group banished Faithful Niko Omilana at the roundtable, the trio of Traitors were seen meeting in the tower to discuss their next victim.

Setting their sights on Olympian Tom Daley, Alan, 49, Jonathan, 64, and Cat, 25, admitted they were concerned that where the 'perceptive' diver 'didn't trust anybody', he'd be quick to turn his sights on one of them.

Tom, 31, was issued a note to signal his death.

Two more Faithfuls also met their fate in episodes this week after being banished from the series at the roundtable - with their co-stars incorrectly guessing they were Traitors.

Tameka Empson and Clare Balding were both sent packing after having the finger pointed at them during the tense table discussions.
