LeAnn Rimes has revealed that she's had to 'hide so much' regarding her health struggles just months after her teeth fell out midperformance.
The 43-year-old songstress talked openly in a new interview published on Tuesday about the emotional and mental toll that past few years have taken on her.
The I Need You hitmaker explained to Us Weekly that she had been 'hiding so much' of herself in the past which contributed to feelings of self-doubt.
The songstress explained: 'It did allow for the insecurity of thoughts I've had in the past about "I'm not pretty, I'm not good enough." I did learn how to love myself through all of my different incarnations.'
Despite the feelings of having to conceal some of her issues, Rimes has been open about suffering from psoriasis which she revealed for the first time back in 2020.
Regarding that time five years ago, she admitted in the new interview that 'it was such a moment of relief because I had been hiding that for so long.'

She continued, 'The same with my mental health and now with perimenopause. Every time I talk about it, I set myself — and someone else — free.'
Rimes — who joined the cast in the upcoming series 9-1-1: Nashville — further expressed, 'I'm aware of getting the chance to love all of the aspects of myself.
'Some of those are harder to love, but I now have the bandwidth and capacity. I can talk to myself in a kinder way.'
Despite facing health struggles, the performer positively added to the outlet that she now feels 'great.'
'My physical health has been something I've focused on the past few years, and preparing my body for the changes it's going through.'
Rimes has dealt with perimenopause symptoms for years as they began in her late 30s.
She told Us Weekly in the new interview that there is 'grief' when it comes to perimenopause.
'Perimenopause is not just about not making eggs anymore. That's a biological piece of us changing. It's such a deepening of the soul and allowing pieces of us that no longer serve us to fall away.'

She added, 'It is such a transformational and beautiful part of life if we know what's going on with our bodies.'
Rimes has been open about this particular struggle for a while as during a conversation with Flow Space back in July, she recalled, 'I thought I was crazy for about two years. I was waking up at 3 a.m. all the time, and having really, really heavy anxiety.'
The Coyote Ugly actress also suffers from psoriasis - a 'chronic disease where skin cells build up quickly, typically causing red or discolored, scaly, and itchy patches on the skin,' per the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Rimes - who is married to Eddie Cibrian - explained to Flow Space that her skin 'has been pretty clear for years now' and is also aware of what triggers a flare-up.
However, she expressed that it can also be 'emotionally exhausting' when it comes to covering a flare-up due to being in the spotlight.
'It's so draining because it's something that you have to think about that most people don't. So I was just very uncomfortable in my body for a long time.'
Last year in January, Rimes gave her fans another update on her health and revealed that she underwent surgery to remove precancerous cells.
She penned in the caption of an Instagram post: 'January is usually a challenging month for me.

'Over the past couple of years, I've either been going through dental surgeries or recovering from a vocal hemorrhage around this time, which was all pretty depressing. But, i have to say, this january, has been joyful and easeful.'
A few months earlier, the star had an annual pap smear but the results came back as abnormal.
'In fact, I've had abnormal paps since i was 17 and through regular pap smears and colposcopies, my doctors have been keeping an eye on any cellular changes that could be taking place.'
Rimes then explained that doctors discovered that she had high grade cervical dysplasia.
'I consulted with my doctor and we jointly decided that a LEEP procedure would be in my best interest, in order to remove the high grade, abnormal, pre-cancerous cells...'
And earlier this year in June, Rimes experienced her dental bridge falling out in the middle of a performance at the Skagit Valley Casino & Resort in Bow, Washington.
When she was 16, Rimes opted to get dental veneers but needed a different dentist to fix them due to the veneers not being bonded correctly.
It resulted in the singer having to undergo a number of root canals as well as oral surgeries.
At the time, she talked to her fans about the shocking experience in an Instagram video and said, 'So last night, I was on stage in the middle of One Way Ticket. I feel something pop in my mouth.

'And if you've been around, you know I've had a lot of dental surgeries, and I have a bridge in the front. It fell out in the middle of my song last night.'
Rimes quickly made her way to the side of the stage to put the bridge back into place.
'I just had to get real with everybody and tell them exactly what was happening or else I would have had to walk off stage. And so, for the rest of the show, I was literally like this pushing my teeth in like every couple lines and singing.'
She also added, 'And you know, like I said, there wasn't a thing I could do about it except either walk off or just hold my teeth in. So, I just ran with it.'

Along with following her passion for music, Rimes has also stepped back into her acting roots by taking on the role of Dixie Bennings in 9-1-1: Nashville.
The new installment in the 9-1-1 franchise is set to begin airing on ABC later this week on October 9.
She also talked to Us Weekly about stepping back in front of the camera and portraying Dixie.
'I get to let out a side of myself that doesn't ever come out in real life, so it's very healing in that way,' Rimes explained. 'It was definitely a stretch for me.'
