Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree have spoken candidly about family life and ongoing work at their cherished French chateau. The pair, who chronicled their restoration project on Channel 4's Escape to the Chateau, confessed they "won't be finished for a long time".

Following the conclusion of the Channel 4 programme, the duo has kept their Instagram fans updated on their daily adventures. Despite embarking on a UK tour since then, Angel and Dick have plenty more to accomplish.

Dick revealed: "We still have bright ideas every day, and we won't be finished for a long time, you know, because we've got projects going on over here," reports Devon Live.

"The place has changed a lot, and it's interesting when we walk around and show people. The last time people saw this [the chateau] was when we did our farewell.

"Our big sort of party to end the filming of Escape to the Chateau."

Discussing the filming of their concluding episode, Dick recalled that their son Arthur broke down in tears, which "set mum off".

Angel added, "He was just like, 'this is the happiest day of my life'. It was our friends and family, and it all came together in the end. It was wonderful.

"So you know what? We're just taking every year as it comes, literally, and just working out what is best for us in the family."

Questioned about whether their children, Arthur and Dorothy, will "follow in their footsteps", Dick responded: "They're gonna beat their own path forward, actually, to be fair.

"We are so lucky. They're both Smart Cookies, full of beans, and they've got ideas. I can't see them away from the chateau in the long, long term, but that's what we were hoping for.

"We're hoping that they find their way, and the chateau is a backdrop for their lives. In that way, Arthur loves his cookery, Dorothy loves doing all sorts; she does painting, she does makeup, nails, and artistic stuff.

"But deep down, I think they're both little entrepreneurs," he added.

"You can't help but be influenced by your parents," Angel went on.

Discussing Escape the Chateau and potential plans for a television return, Dick revealed that Arthur's beginning of senior school and Dorothy's approaching her final year "before she moved" prompted the programme's conclusion.

He said, "Back in 2022, we had a huge conversation saying, 'before they get all the pressures that young people have in their lives on them, it was time for us to walk away from the Escape'.

"That's why we did it. We told everybody at the beginning of 2022 that's why I had the big party at the end of 2022, because it was so important for Arthur and Dorothy to do the transition into senior school with all the pressure they."

Angel subsequently expressed her worries regarding her daughter, stating, "I worry a bit more about Dorothy, actually.

"But it was exactly the right decision to make, because since we moved here, Dorothy was zero.

"They'd had the cameras here all year round, and it was exactly the right thing to do. What we're not against, we haven't sort of hidden them away from the media. They love it."
