Franco Colapinto ‘acted like he was Max Verstappen’ at the United States Grand Prix, according to F1 icon Juan Pablo Montoya. The Alpine driver was reprimanded by his team after denying team orders to overtake team-mate Pierre Gasly late in the race.
“Let’s see, I’ll give you both sides of the coin and let people think what they want,” Montoya told AS Colombia. “I’m not going to get involved in controversy. First, I’m going to defend it, because he was coming faster, the team is crazy, what are they playing at? Why are they giving him a team order at this point? What do they need? Honestly, unnecessary. “Why? If Franco is on a different strategy with fresher tyres, why are they doing that? They’re way out of line.
