Marinis echoed those comments in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter.
"If we can get the writers upset, then we know we're doing it right," she said. "It's supposed to make people upset [when someone dies]... it's not as satisfying a story if people aren’t upset when someone leaves. It's supposed to make people upset and sad, so I’m sure there’ll be some arguments. But I’ve been persuaded before to change my mind on things."

Grey's Anatomy season 22 release date: When will it air?
Season 22 of Grey's Anatomy will premiere in the US on Thursday 9th October at 10/9c on ABC.
It will also be available to stream on Hulu the next day.
It will air in the UK and internationally from Friday 10th October on Disney Plus.

"We will be seeing Trevor Jackson more, and he is an amazing person," says Marinis (via EW). "He's so talented. It's been so fun with him on set already, and he is definitely mixing up the dynamics between our resident cast members, specifically Simone and Lucas.
"There's definitely going to be ramifications of what happened at the end of last season."
Grey's Anatomy season 22 plot theories
Much of the upcoming season is being kept under wraps, but we do know that it picks up following the devastating explosion at Grey Sloan in the season 21 finale, after which Miranda goes missing, as does Link.
"We clearly saw Link in immediate danger," Marinis told EW. "We'll just have to see whether Link makes it through this explosion..."
Speaking to Parade, Marinis echoed that uncertainty: "There are other doctors on that floor. We saw that Bailey, Monica, and Jules are by the board. But with Link, we're Grey's Anatomy, and we always like to twist our happiness.
"We just told this beautiful wedding story in Episode 17. Link and Jo are married. They have this blissful, oblivious, beautiful storyline in the supply closet. They find out they're having girls. Then, of course, you can't just be this happy."
