Jonathan Ross has opened up about his experience on The Celebrity Traitors whilst appearing on Loose Women, confessing he found it challenging.

The broadcaster participated in Claudia Winkleman's murder mystery programme as a group of famous faces assumed the parts of Faithfuls and Traitors for the first time.

Selected as one of the Traitors, he was compelled to conceal his identity from fellow contestants including Paloma Faith, Kate Garraway, Nick Mohammed, Joe Marler, Celia Imrie and Sir Stephen Fry.

Following several days of suspicion, Jonathan, identified as one of the "Big Dogs" was ultimately banished, whilst his co-Traitors Alan Carr and Cat Burns have reached the final.

Offering his parting words, he told his fellow contestants: "I've got no idea what everyone is doing wrong, I cannot believe you've done it again, I cannot believe I'm standing here for no good reason, I don't want to be rude, but you're idiots," reports Wales Online.

"But I am not judging, because it's fiendish, I'm not blaming the players, I'm blaming the game. I am now, and I have been all through the game completely Faithful... To the Traitors!"

Despite his memorable exit, Jonathan has now revealed he found the entire experience difficult.

"It did really get to me," he disclosed during his appearance on Loose Women today (Friday 31 October). "I really did struggle with it, I really found it uncomfortable a lot of the time."

He continued: "It wasn't difficult to do it particularly, it was just uncomfortable."

Jonathan confessed there was "genuine emotion" during the Faithfuls' banishments following the heated roundtables, revealing it proved far more emotional than what audiences witnessed, and felt particularly "uncomfortable" for him given his Traitor status.

He continued by expressing "relief" following his banishment, describing the journey home from the Scottish castle as "the happiest I'd been in my entire life".

Despite finding the process challenging, Jonathan praised the unique opportunity and his fellow participants, before backing his predicted champion.

"It looks unlikely that [Cat and Alan] will survive," he remarked, commending Joe's aggressive gameplay and Nick's strategic approach.

"I suspect to be a Faithful is a much easier experience," he noted.

"I cannot wait to see the final, but I'm saddened because I wanted a Traitor to win... I was pretty certain I'd go first and I didn't mind at all, but now it seems like they've really got Alan and Cat," he stated.

This follows Jonathan having to explain his remarks after previously saying he didn't "enjoy" The Celebrity Traitors.

Speaking about the experience earlier this month with his daughter Honey on their podcast Reel Talk, he commented: "I know they're already planning a second celebrity version. I know because I've had two celebrity friends of mine call me and say, 'I've been approached - is it good to do, is it bad to do?' So I'm giving them the benefit of my experience, which was I didn't enjoy it."

He subsequently posted on X clarifying he wasn't deterring others from participating in upcoming series, stating: "I am pleased I did it – an extraordinary experience- but I did not enjoy the duplicity as the game progressed. It's a tougher psychological challenge than I expected, is all. But I would never try to talk anyone out of it – just trying to give them a sense of what to expect."

The Celebrity Traitors returns on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
