Princess Catherine has issued a good luck message to England's Rugby League squad as they prepare to face off with Australia in a historic match at Wembley today.
Australia is set to go head-to-head with England in a long-awaited derby match for the first time in over two decades.
The series of matches, known as the Ashes, hasn't been held since 2003 due to the latest edition since the Covid-19 pandemic being cancelled.
However today England will have the opportunity to gain vengeance after their harrowing defeat against the Aussie squad over twenty years ago.
In what is set to be a huge moment for the England side, the patron of the Rugby Football Union, the Princess of Wales, 43, wished them good luck.
The mother-of-three took over the role from Prince Harry in 2020 when he stepped down as a working royal and moved to the US with Meghan Markle.
'Wishing England the very best of luck in their first Rugby League Ashes campaign in 22 years,' she wrote on X.
'An exciting new chapter for the game begins at Wembley Stadium today. We are all behind you. C.'
Kate first became patron of the RFU in 2022 and has proved herself to be both dedicated and keen, attending several matches all around the globe.
That same year, she attended England's Rugby League World cup quarter-final face off with Papua New Guinea in Wigan.
The Princess of Wales has also been in attendance at women's matches, previously taking to the stands to watch England's rugby union squad play against Australia in the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup.
Kate later posed up for a picture with the some of the squad after they defeated Australia 47 points to seven.
They would later emerge victorious against Canada and take home the title of world champions.
Posting a message on Instagram, she sent her support for the Red Roses as they prepared for the final, while confirming that she would not be attending.
Taking to the social media platform she shares with her husband Prince William, 43, Kate wrote: 'Good luck England! Wishing the very best of luck to the @redrosesrugby in their Women's Rugby World Cup Final at Twickenham today. We're so proud of you! C.'
Alongside the caption, Kate posted a photo of herself posing with players Megan Jones, Ellie Kildunne and Jess Breach.
In the snap, Ellie and Jess are wearing white cowboy hats with an image of the team's emblem - a red rose - on the front.
Meanwhile, mother-of-three Kate wears a red stetson, decorated with an image of a tiara.
The official Red Roses Instagram account responded, writing: 'Thank you for your support!'
Other social media users also took to the comments section to share their thoughts, with one writing: 'Brilliant picture…Good luck England.'
Another added: 'The Princess looking so cute with that hat.'
