Paloma Faith has revealed she regularly saw a BBC psychologist while filming the upcoming spin-off The Celebrity Traitors.

The new celebrity edition of the hit BBC game show features a star-studded lineup including Paloma, 44, Stephen Fry, 68, Olympic diver Tom Daley, 31, and comedian Alan Carr, 49, all battling it out at Ardross Castle in Scotland for a chance to win up to £100,000 for charity.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday ahead of the series launch on Wednesday, the singer has now admitted that she found the experience far more intense than she expected.

She confessed: 'It is not on camera - I went to see them [welfare] all the time. Yeah, it was a therapist.

'I definitely learned some things about myself that I thought I had moved on from, from my childhood and everything.

'I guess it is a game of trust, isn't it? So it is quite unsettling when you feel like everyone you know might not be as trustworthy as they seem - everyone is playing a game and it is hard to rationalise.'

The show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, sees the celebrities attempt to root out the secret 'traitors' among them, while the 'faithfuls' must work together to survive and potentially split the prize fund.

However, if a traitor remains undetected by the final, they walk away with the entire cash pot.

Speaking exclusively at Clays in London's Soho, Paloma revealed that everyone she's spoken to who's appearing on the show is also worried about how they'll be edited.

She admitted they could be portrayed as 'absolutely awful' or 'absolutely gorgeous,' depending entirely on the final cut.

The singer also confessed that she was taken aback by the psychological toll of filming, admitting she had expected to treat the experience like a 'game', but quickly realised how intense it truly was.

She said that once you're in the castle, you feel isolated, because cast members are banned from making any contact with the outside world.

When asked if she ever became emotional during filming, Paloma candidly admitted she did, but said she formed genuine friendships with some of her fellow contestants, including Niko Omilana and Ruth Codd, whom she's stayed in touch with.

The hitmaker also praised Claudia's fashion choices this season, saying the host had 'really upped her game' when it came to style.

It comes as the Daily Mail revealed that a second celebrity series of The Traitors is already a 'done deal' ahead of the spin-off's highly anticipated debut

It comes as the Daily Mail revealed that a second celebrity series of The Traitors is already a 'done deal' ahead of the spin-off's highly anticipated debut.

Before the first season airs, another year of celebrity spin-off of the popular BBC show is already said to be 'in the bag', according to The Sun.

Bosses are expecting the first season to be a hit as the last-civilian run, which aired in January, attracted huge ratings of seven million per episode.

It remains to be seen who will be Faithful and who will be a dreaded Traitor this time around, but given the personalities involved, we're expecting fireworks.

Host Claudia has already stipulated that there will be no special treatment for celebs, so no doubt they'll be put through their paces with the usual array of wacky challenges.

A source told the publication: 'The Celebrity Traitors is landing at the very peak of the format's popularity, it's the biggest show on the box, globally, and the cast is exceptional.

'Everyone knows something would have gone incredibly wrong if this didn't become the TV event of the year.

'The official message is that a formal recommission depends how well series one does, but in reality it's all but a done deal.'

The Daily Mail has contacted the BBC for a comment.

The Celebrity Traitors begins on Wednesday at 9pm on BBC One, with episode two to follow on Thursday and will air across five weeks.
