A US Marshal and an illegal immigrant have both been shot during an operation in Los Angeles.
The two were injured after agents surrounded a person in a vehicle in the south of the city on Tuesday morning, according to the LAPD.
The immigrant, 44-year-old Carlitos Ricardo Parias - whom witnesses told ABC News was a TikToker goes by Richard LA online - was targeted after he previously escaped their custody and then tried to flee again, the Department of Homeland Security said.
A statement said: 'The illegal alien weaponized his vehicle and began ramming the law enforcement vehicle in an attempt to flee

'The illegal alien was shot in the elbow and one law enforcement officer was shot in the hand by a ricochet bullet. Both are in the hospital.'

'We are once again calling on sanctuary politicians, agitators, and the media to turn the temperature down and stop calling for violence and resistance against ICE law enforcement.'
