The latest series of Big Brother is at the halfway point now and while the likes of Jenny Baird, Richard Storry and Zelah Glasson are all keeping us well and truly entertained, we’ve still very much got a soft spot for some of the OG Big Brother stars who rose to fame in the show’s iconic Channel 4 era.

That’s why we were VERY excited when we heard the news that a Big Brother 2006 finalist is returning to reality TV 19 years after they made their telly debut.

Remember Glyn Wise of ‘I’m cooking an egg for the very first time’ fame? Well, he’s set to appear on a HUGE Netflix game show.

The cast of the second series of Squid Game: The Challenge, which premieres next week on Tuesday 4 November, has just been revealed and among the 456 contestants taking part is none other than Glyn.

Glyn is player 36 and will be taking part in the game in an attempt to get his hands on the jaw-dropping $4.56million prize money. Just imagine how many eggs he can buy with that kinda dosh.

If you’re wondering what Glyn’s been up to in the past 19 years, he’s actually had a major career change and now works as a trainee vicar. Ahead of his appearance on Squid Game: The Challenge, he said, ‘I will be ordained this year and am excited to give my life to God.’

Following his stint on Big Brother almost two decades ago, Glyn - who lived alongside the likes of Pete Bennett, Aisylene Horgan-Wallace and Nikki Grahame - had a brief career as a radio DJ for BBC Wales before dropping out of the spotlight and plying his trade as a teacher in his home country.

He went on to study a degree in Theology and has been working as an assistant to the priest at a church in Camden, north London while training to be a vicar.

Back in 2022, he exclusively told heat, ‘I always felt there was something there. When I went on Big Brother, being Christian wasn’t considered very cool, but I’d be praying in bed under the covers.

‘There’s a good quote in the Bible, "Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you." I believe I prayed my way into the house. And now it all feels like a jigsaw puzzle coming together, like it was all leading me to this moment.’

At the time, he added, ‘Hopefully, in two years, I’ll be Father Glyn. I just can’t wait. I’ll be able to do everything: marry people, do funerals, baptisms…although, knowing me, the baby will fall in [the holy water]! And then I’ll go wherever the calling takes me. Life is predestined, anyway, so you go where feels right.’
