Strictly Come Dancing fans hailed La Voix as she took over Tess Daly's hosting duties during the show's spooktacular Halloween Week.

During Saturday evening's instalment of the hit BBC show, the singer, 45, took centre stage as she temporarily stepped into Tess's shoes to introduce herself and her next dance - a paso doble to Symphony No. 5 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Dressed as the Queen of Hearts, La Voix told viewers: 'So far this series, our next star has been a boxer, a bird lady, and Cher, quite the variety.

'Tonight, she's taking on the Queen of Hearts for an Alice In Wonderland inspired Paso Doble, It's La Voix!'

Turning to Tess, who was grinning from ear to ear, she asked: 'How did I do?'

Tess replied: 'Nailed it!' prompting La Voix to give a cheeky wink to the camera as the audience erupted in applause.

Following her hilarious takeover, fans flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the performer, with many calling for her to become one of the show's new presenters.

One fan wrote: 'La Voix seriously needs to become one of the new presenters.'; 'I wouldn't actually mind if La Voix replaced Tess I think she's brilliant!'

'LA VOIX DOING HER OWN THING I LOVE ITTT GIVE MY GIRL THE JOB.'; 'I'm sold. Give La Voix Tessa's spot!'

It comes after La Voix caught Claudia Winkleman off guard when she made a public plea to take her job during last Saturday night's episode.

Claudia, 53, and Tess, 56, shocked fans last week as they announced they were stepping down from presenting the dance competition.

The iconic duo made history as the BBC's first female presenting duo, but revealed that the current series will be their last, after making a pact to walk away together.

But just hours after the shock news, speculation over who would replace them went into overdrive, with a slew of big names having their hats thrown into the ring for the prized TV job.

And Drag Race UK star La Voix made sure she was at the front of the queue on, as she took the opportunity to beg Claudia for her job, live on air.

She closed out the show with partner Aljaž Skorjanec, transforming into Cher to perform a Salsa to the icon's hit Strong Enough.

And waiting in the Clauditorium ahead of her performance, she was quick to ask the host a favour, while the cameras were rolling.

As Claudia teased her upcoming dance as Cher for Icons Week, La Voix cut in: 'Claudia, while I’ve got you, do you know the address when you send your CV to the BBC?

'Just in case any new jobs are coming up. I'm just asking for a friend.'

A laughing Claudia grabbed La Voix's hand and led her over to the centre of the shot to take a turn, saying: 'Give it a go babe, let's do it now.'

And showing off her quick wit, La Voix hilariously just uttered a single word: 'Tess' to hand over the main studio, causing the entire room to burst into laughter.

As a giggling Claudia wrapped the performer in a hug, an equally amused Tess praised: 'Perfect'.

While viewers at home were similarly left in stitches by the moment and took to social media to declare La Voix would be 'the perfect replacement' and a 'national treasure in the making.'
