An expectant mother says she was stunned to see an ultrasound scan of her baby that looks almost exactly like her dog.

Inês Egner, 26, went viral on TikTok after sharing what she said were the results of her latest scan, writing: 'We were so excited for our anatomy scan... Only to get our photos back and realise... Our son looks remarkably like our dog'.

She shared the image along with a photo of her dog Goulash.

Inês told People that she couldn't help but laugh at the image.

She said: 'We went to do the 20-week anatomy sonogram together with my best friend. We were idling in the waiting room for a bit before the doctor called me in and handed me a little folder with all the pictures and the general report of the exam.

'We were skimming through them together, the three of us, as you do, admiring the little hands, the little nose...until we came across that picture and my friend goes, "Wait, doesn't the baby look just like Goulash?'"

'Hard to unsee the uncanny similarity after that', she joked.

Inês continued: 'My husband and I instantly started laughing because we could see it too.

'I then sent the photos to my family via text and my father, unprompted, actually said the same thing. He responded to that particular picture and said, "The baby looks like Goulash." No one can unsee it now!'

She admitted she didn't mind that her baby's scan looked so odd, telling the magazine: 'I know you're meant to say your baby looks beautiful in the sonogram photos, that they look just like their parents and whatnot, but the reality is they are really ugly.

'Alien-esque. Sometimes downright creepy! And in truth, we do like to jokingly refer to the dog as our son, so it was just a fun time overall.'

Goulash the dog is set to turn five in December, and Inês said he's the best dog she's ever known.

'I rescued him when he was just 7 months old and we have been inseparable ever since. He loves to cuddle, he's so gentle, adores everyone, and is never in a bad mood. We have a cat that we brought home a bit over a year ago, and he fell in love with her right away, never even felt jealous.'
