It's been five years since they called an official end to their on/off romance.
And despite things ending on a sour note, James Argent and Gemma Collins proved time is a healer as they enjoyed a cosy reunion at Winter Wonderland in London's Hyde Park on Thursday night.
The exes looked in good spirits as they caught up alongside a group of friends at the festive soiree.
Gemma and Arg dated on and off between 2012 and 2020, with Gemma claiming at the time of their split that he had sent her a string of abusive messages making derogatory remarks about her weight.
Yet there seemed to be no bad blood remaining between the pair, with Gemma beaming broadly at Arg during their catch up.
The reality star, 44, looked stylish on the outing, sporting a burgundy trouser suit with a white Birkin handbag and leopard print loafers.
Meanwhile Arg, 37, displayed his 14 stone weight loss in a cream pullover and slacks.
The Celebrity Super Spa star has slimmed down in recent years after undergoing a gastric sleeve procedure in 2021.
His weight loss journey came after he tackled his drink and drug addiction.
Gemma previously admitted she was at an 'all-time low' over Christmas 2019, noting her romance with Arg turned 'very sour' because of Arg's drug addiction that 'changed him as a person'.
Gemma and Arg's romance came to an end in July 2020 after he told her he wanted an open relationship following his well-publicized drug and alcohol battle.
Speaking about their romance on Piers Morgan's Life Stories previously, Gemma said: 'For anyone who ever thinks about taking drugs, or just trying it for one night, you can end up getting addicted.
'I was really happy with James. We did get on, but the drugs changed him as a person. I fought every day for three years to get him well.
'I have felt suicidal … I think when my relationship broke down with Arg, that affected me. I just thought, I don't wanna be here anymore. I can't take it.
'Christmas was an all-time low. I saved his life three times, I had this insatiable love for him - I never wanted to give up on him.
'It was hard, there was a lot of love there - the relationship turned very, very sour because of the drugs.'
Troubled James was taken to hospital for the second time in two months in 2019, after friends and family feared he had attempted a second 'overdose'.
Paramedics rushed to his £1.3million home in South Woodford, Essex in December, where they found the star 'disorientated' shortly before friends - including Mark Wright - rallied around in a bid to help him get the support he needs.
Arg has battled drink and drug addiction since finding fame on TOWIE. In 2014 he was suspended from the show after he failed a routine drugs test.
James checked into The Priory and returned to the ITV reality show in 2015.
The TV star spent three months in a facility in Thailand over the festive season in 2016 in a bid to curb his addiction and revealed he checked himself in to a programme in order to get the 'ongoing support' he needed.
Appearing on This Morning, the reality star admitted that he 'hated' girlfriend Gemma during the height of his addiction battle, as she refused to cover up for him.
Growing emotional, Arg confessed: 'I really feel for Gemma because she has had to go through so much. When I was deep in my addiction I would hate her.
'I would say "why are you telling my family, why are you telling me friends, why are you telling the bosses of the TV shows? You're going to ruin my career."
'But she refused to cover up for me. She refused to lie for me, she would never cover up or enable to continue in my addiction.
'At the time I hated her for that because I almost wanted to get away with it and do what I wanted.'
Admitting that Gemma was pivotal in his recovery, he continued: 'She gave me some tough love for sure. She was hard on me.
'Thank God she was because if it wasn't for Gemma calling the ambulances to my house, who knows what could have happened.
'I have put my own life at risk, my career and health. More important than that it's what I've put my parents, friends, girlfriend and manager through.
'The only way I can make amends with them is by staying clean and sober. It's all good making these promises, but action speaks louder than words.'
