We say it every year but the latest series of Married At First Sight was arguably THE best season in a long time.
We know MAFS 2023 was all about Ella Morgan and JJ Slater's love affair and series nine had a handful of characters including Richelle Cade, Hannah Norburn and Polly Sellman but series 10? It was WILD.
From Steven Springett calling his wife a 'f--king idiot' and Sarah Gillanders' body shaming comments to Paul Richardson and Anita Barker's tragic relationship - we were kept on our toes throughout the entire experiment.

Just when it came to the end of the show - literally days before the final vows - everyone's jaws were on the floor when it came to light that not only had Julia-Ruth Smith made plans to go for drinks with Steven, but she also went on holiday, slept with and got a tattoo with Joe Wood.
To say she got roasted by the MAFS cast is an understatement; Nelly Patel and Maeve Mathieson were rightfully furious and the rest of the cast were just as floored. Despite Julia-Ruth taking the brunt for all the drama, Joe failed to return to the boys' night and he also declined to join the cast for the reunion dinner party and commitment ceremony.
Since it all came to light Joe has remained fairly quiet about the whole debacle, although he has said 'as a single man I reserve the right to do as I please' before going to on to say, 'I understand that some people may see my actions as insensitive.'

Joe then went on to reveal that he didn't take things any further with Julia-Ruth after their holiday because it would have been 'morally wrong'.
'We got back and I just think morally, for me, it wouldn’t have been right to pursue anything with her in terms of something serious,' he said on the Tom Talks podcast.
'I don’t think that would have been right for me, it just didn’t feel right for me to then pursue a romantic relationship.'

Following his 'morally wrong' comments, Julia-Ruth has now spoken out and said on TikTok, 'I don't have any beef with Joe, I think he said quite a lot of bits in the interview that were quite nice about me and I actually really appreciate that he spoke and defended me.
'But I can't lie because at the same time, there's lots of stuff that's misrepresented and it's so annoying because all I've done - even after all of this - is put out statement and said nice things about Joe.
'He said in an interview that I invited myself on holiday, I just feel like this back and forth thing online is so petty.'

The series 10 cast member went on to say, 'I don't know how to navigate it but I'm just so tired of copping all the flack.
'I'm not here to start an online war or try to be petty but I have screenshots and videos that state it was very mutual and if anything actually it was maybe more so from his side inviting me on holiday.
'I have screenshots of after the holiday as well with him telling me, "If shit hits the fan we'll just elope to Bali."'
She wrote on top of the video, 'Well it has [hit the fan], why are we not in Bali?'
LOL.
We doubt we'll be seeing Julia-Ruth and Joe on holiday together any time soon...
