If you squint hard enough you might see Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly staring back at you from a bizarrely warped photo of comedian Peter Kay - at least according to a handful of Instagram followers.

The reclusive comic, 52, is back in the public eye after announcing a final run of arena shows across the United Kingdom and Ireland, with all proceeds donated to 12 separate British cancer charities.

The dates, confirmed by Kay during a rare TV appearance on Wednesday evening's instalment of The One Show, will be added to his sprawling Better Late Than Never UK tour, with the first additional date taking place at London's O2 Arena in December.

But a severely warped image of the comedian's appearance on the BBC chat show prompted bemusement from some Instagram users, with some claiming the doctored photo inadvertently made him look like a cross between TV presenting duo Ant and Dec.

Sharing the still with followers, one social media user commented: 'I love Peter Kay but my dad's sent me this photo and I can't help feeling it looks like an AI generated photo of Ant and Dec combined.'

Evidently in agreement, a second added: 'It's like Ant & Dec.'

The Geordie presenting duo are currently in Australia for the latest series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

However, most rightly dismissed the photo, which appeared to be deliberately warped and bore almost no similarity to the comedian.

Kind hearted Kay confirmed he will donate all profits from his final run of shows to a string of charities around the United Kingdom.

'It's finishing next year, and I am announcing the last lot of shows but all profits are going to cancer charities,' he told The One Show hosts Lauren Laverne, who confirmed her own cancer diagnosis in 2024, and Vernon Kay.

'It’s been the greatest privilege of my life to perform for audiences up and down the country. I’ve been completely overwhelmed by the support over the years, and it feels right to give something back,' Kay said.

The charities expected to benefit from Kay's generosity include Children With Cancer UK, Teenage Cancer Trust, Kidney Cancer UK, Blood Cancer UK and Bowel Cancer UK.

Prostate Cancer UK, DKMS UK, Ovarian Cancer Action, Pancreatic Cancer UK, Anthony Nolan, The Brain Tumour Charity and Breast Cancer UK will also receive a percentage of profits from his final shows.

He added: 'Unfortunately everyone knows someone affected on that list and I hope people support it, that's why I'm here.

'You don't even have to like me to come, it goes beyond that and it is about supporting these charities and I hope you'd come.

'Tickets go on sale this Sunday at 10 o'clock. It's a good Christmas present too', he added.

Peter will take to the stage for over 20 arena dates across Newcastle, Nottingham, Glasgow, Dublin, Birmingham, Belfast, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester and London.

Rachel Calderon, deputy director of fundraising at Blood Cancer UK, said the announcement was a 'milestone' moment.

'Everyone in the blood cancer community, whether they're affected by leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma is genuinely chuffed and deeply grateful,' she said.

Dr Michele Afif, CEO of The Brain Tumour Charity, said Peter has the charity's 'deepest gratitude' for his support.

'Including The Brain Tumour Charity as one of the charities benefitting from the proceeds of his 2026 tour, will be instrumental to us achieving much needed change for everyone we stand alongside. Thank you, Peter. From all of us,' she said.

It's not the first time Kay has raised money for cancer charities as back in 2023, he revealed that a portion of his ticket sales, from his opening night Apollo show in Manchester would be donated to charity.

The comedian paid his respects to his much-devoted fan Laura Nuttall after she tragically lost her life at 23-years-old, following her cancer battle.

The super fan was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an incurable form of brain cancer, following a routine eye test in 2018.

And despite being given 12 months to live, she completed her very own bucket list and achieved milestones such as graduation, presenting BBC's weather forecast as well as raising money for brain cancer charities.

In 2021, the comic emerged from retirement to host two live Q&A sessions in honour of Laura.

The sold-out sessions raised funds which enabled Laura to travel to Germany for specialist treatment which wasn't available in the UK.

Laura was diagnosed with a total of eight brain tumours and underwent a craniotomy to remove the largest tumour, followed by an intense regimen of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
