Sarah Ferguson could end up scrapping plans to move to Portugal with her daughter Princess Eugenie, as another option could be up for grabs for the former Duchess, thanks to her older daughter Princess Beatrice. Fergie, as she is affectionately known, found herself without a title, home or job after the King stripped his brother and her former husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, of his titles and honours due to his links to convicted paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein.
The disgraced former prince agreed to leave his home, Royal Lodge, and move into one of the houses of the King’s Sandringham estate following the furore. But the decision left Ms Ferguson essentially homeless, as she had been living with her ex-husband at the lavish Windsor mansion since 2008.
Earlier this month, the Daily Express revealed that Sarah’s youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, is preparing a room for her at a £3.6million luxury oceanfront villa in Portugal owned by her and husband Jack Brooksbank, as the former duchess braces to “flee the UK”.
But now a new report by the Mail on Sunday claimed she may be considering her options, including Beatrice’s lavish estate in the Cotswolds.
The princess recently renovated the granny annexe at her £3.5million home, which could “provide the perfect base for soon-to-be-homeless Fergie.”
A source told the newspaper: “The granny annexe seems to be ready to move into now.
“It'd be perfect for Fergie, wouldn't it? The stonework has all been repointed, the gutters renovated, the woodwork nicely painted. It has its own entrance.
“Just today, the road was blocked for a delivery of propane gas bottles for the annexe. That coincided with the first cold snap of winter.
“So, clearly, the arrival of someone is imminent. It may not look like much of a palace on the outside, but I bet it's stunning inside.”
It comes as reports suggested the former Duchess is considering a potential tell-all TV interview following her fall from grace amid the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
