In the first episode, The Crawl, Holly goes to chat with her "friend" in the playground while the other children go inside.
When her teacher Miss Harris (Hope Hynes Love) checks to see who she is talking to, she realises that no one else is there, raising concerns about Holly's mental state.
Although Miss Harris' role may be minor in the grand scheme of the Stranger Things universe, the actress herself has played a significant role in the lives of its creators, The Duffer Brothers.
The actress playing teacher Miss Harris, Hope Hynes Love, is actually the school drama teacher of the Stranger Things' creators.
Despite Matt and Ross Duffer growing up to be "terrible actors", it was Love who inspired the pair to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
In a 2017 interview with the North Carolina Arts Council, Matt Duffer revealed: "We had an amazing drama teacher – Hope Hynes (at Jordan High School).
"She was incredible. She more than anyone influenced us. We're terrible actors, but I just wanted to be part of the drama department because she is an incredible director.
"She was fantastic with kids, and fantastic with people who hadn't acted much.
"She was brilliant, and I still pull from the lessons I learned from her."
Love also plays a pivotal role in another crucial scene in the fourth episode of part one titled Sorcerer as Vecna and the demogorgons attempt to transport the children to the Upside Down.
As pandemonium ensues in the military base, the children begin to scream and she instructs them all to quickly take cover under the beds.
Her IMDb page reveals that this is her only onscreen role and it doesn't appear that she will return for the second part of Stranger Things season five.
