Jannik Sinner won't be representing Italy at this year's Davis Cup, which means that tomorrow's final at the ATP Finals is his last match of the year. Win or lose, the world No. 2 is just happy to close out his season with one more match in front of the home crowd in Turin.
"First of all, I’m very happy. Last event of the year, great to finish in this way. It was a very tough match, especially in the beginning of the first set. I felt like he was serving great, very precise. In the second set, I had a break very early and then my level raised. I tried to be a bit more aggressive, which worked very well, but yeah, it was a very tough match," he said after beating Alex de Minaur 7-5 6-2.
"But again, making three times consecutive finals here in Turin means a lot to me. It’s a great atmosphere, great place for me to play tennis and also a great place to close this beautiful season I’ve played in, and tomorrow I will enjoy, I will obviously try my best to get the best possible result. In any case, it has been, again, an amazing week.
"Tomorrow is the last match of the season for me, so I’m very happy to finish with a final."
