Two players have withdrawn from the England squad due to injury with Thomas Tuchel calling up two replacements. The Three Lions will wrap up their World Cup qualifying campaign with games against Serbia and Albania this month. They have already booked their place at next summer's tournament, winning all of their matches so far without conceding a single goal.

Marc Guehi suffered a foot injury while playing for Crystal Palace in their Conference League game against AZ Alkmaar last week. He has reported for international duty but it is not clear if he will be able to play against Serbia or Albania. Trevoh Chalobah has been called up to provide cover in the centre of defence.

Chalobah has been a regular for the Blues this season, only missing one Premier League game due to suspension. He has scored twice for the Blues, but also came under fire after being sent off against Brighton in September.

He earned his maiden England call-up in May and made his debut in the friendly defeat to Senegal, which remains his only senior international appearance to date.

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Newcastle duo Anthony Gordon and Nick Pope have withdrawn from the squad, with the former nursing a hip injury and the latter suffering from a concussion.

James Trafford has been drafted in to replace Pope, while no additional forward has yet been called up in place of Gordon.

A statement from the FA read: "Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah and Manchester City’s James Trafford have been added to the England squad.

"This follows the withdrawal of Newcastle United duo Anthony Gordon and Nick Pope through injury and concussion respectively.

"Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi has reported for international duty and will continue to be assessed in the coming days."

Guehi is not expected to miss a huge amount of time with Palace manager Oliver Glasner confirming that his injury did not appear to be a long-term setback.

"Overnight he couldn’t sleep, it was so painful and the next day we assessed him and it was a heavy bone bruise," said Glasner.

"He was walking on crutches the last two days and couldn’t even step on his foot. Fortunately nothing is broken, but at the moment he can’t even walk.

"It looks like he will miss England’s games, but after, maybe in 10 to 14 days hopefully he can return to training and be available again."
