Disney+ viewers have hailed this miniseries a “masterpiece” after being left on the edge of their seats by the “impeccable” thriller. In 2020, Hollywood icons Reece Witherspoon and Kerry Washington joined forces to bring the novel, Little Fires Everywhere, to life. The eight-episode series was an on-screen adaptation of the 2017 best-selling book, written by Celeste Ng.

Viewers admitted they were hooked as they watched the lives of two families become intertwined after the picture-perfect Rishardson family became landlords to the mysterious mother-daughter duo, Mia (played by Kerry) and Pearl Warren (Lexi Underwood). The American drama takes place during the late 1990s and explores themes such as motherhood, race, class, and the clash between privilege and poverty.

Sharing thoughts about the drama, one viewer penned: “An absolute masterpiece." They continued: "What a masterclass in writing, plot twists and character development. The whole cast was impeccable, an outstanding level of acting.”

Another praised: “Loved it! True masterpiece of writing and acting! Characters and storyline were compelling and authentic. It was not predictable and did a great job of illustrating both sides of a situation with both intended and unintended consequences.”

“Best series I have watched in a while, and one where you can see everyone's point of view and understand. Stayed with me this series,” said a third.

One fan added: “I think that this show is amazing! The characters are intriguing, and the acting is well done. By the time you realise the true complexity, it will leave you with ‘Wow!’ It is very thought-provoking.”

Reflecting on the storyline, a fifth penned: “Went into this not knowing what I would think, finished all eight episodes in one day as I couldn't turn it off.” Another exclaimed: “I loved this series! Extremely deep, thought-provoking, and such talented actors! Bravo, Excellent drama!”

While many shared anticipation for a second instalment, it was revealed that Little Fires Everywhere was originally conceived as a single-season limited series. Speaking to The Wrap in 2020, showrunner Liz Tigelaar explained that Little Fires Everywhere feels finished.

Tigelaar said: “I feel like we’ve told the complete story.... But I don’t see an organic Season 2 that really honours how these characters would interact.”

However, the author Celeste previously teased: "These characters may come back to me with an idea about more story that needs to be told. So right now I don’t have more to say about them, but maybe three years from now, we’ll make another episode."
