Liverpool want compromise on Barcola
Liverpool are working to find agreement with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola amid escalating valuations.
The 23-year-old France international has indicated he does not wish to sign a new contract with the European champions and is open to joining Liverpool who have a long-held interest.
PSG are considering his sale but he still has two years left on contract and they believe, based on his age, potential and current market prices, £140million is a fair reflection of his valuation.
Liverpool will seek a compromise on that with Barcola's price reputed to have been closer to £75m last summer when they first sounded out his representatives.

Inter in for Tottenham star Romero
Inter Milan have confirmed they have entered talks with Tottenham over the potential signing of Cristian Romero.
The Spurs captain helped Argentina reach a second straight World Cup final this month, but as Daily Mail Sport reported last month is attracting interest from the Italian giants after they were made aware he could leave this summer.
The structure is complicated, though, as Spurs still want a significant fee for the 28-year-old after an eventful five-year spell.
Inter’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, told Sky Italy: 'It’s definitely a deal we are trying to sign with the player and the club. These things take some time but there’s definitely interest. Let’s see.'
Is it yes or no, Mo? Besiktas waiting for Salah answer
Besiktas say they are awaiting Mohamed Salah's decision after submitting their final offer for the former Liverpool forward.
Club president Serdal Adali confirmed to Turkish media: 'We told Salah and his agent that we expect them to inform us of their decision shortly.
'Since our first meetings, we have evaluated every requested increase and amendment within the framework of Besiktas' interests and presented our final offer. The decision is now on the player's side, and we expect a response soon.'
He added that Besiktas had reviewed every requested increase and amendment throughout the negotiations while keeping the club's interests in mind before putting forward its last proposal.
It is understood Besiktas are the first choice for Salah, now 34, but he does have offers from elsewhere - including the MLS, where Sporting Kansas City have made a lucrative two-year contract proposal.

Saudi suitor for Sancho
Jason Sancho has emerged as a target for Qatari club Al-Rayyan.
The 26-year-old is a free agent after leaving Manchester United and has been keeping fit while awaiting offers to assess.
Atletico Madrid have also shown an interest in the England international.

Blackburn bag Finley after trial
Blackburn Rovers have signed former Brighton goalkeeper Finley Taylor after he impressed on trial.
The 18-year-old was a free agent having left Brighton, where he had been for five years.
Taylor said: 'At the end of last season, I came on trial, played against Manchester United and it was a good game. A tough game against obviously one of the best teams in England.
'After that, I found out I got signed. It was just a phone call, and it was a massive relief because, obviously, when you leave a club before, it's quite nerve-racking; you don't know what to expect. So, to get that call was a massive relief.'
Newcastle look at Hornicek after he rejected Hull move
Newcastle United have switched sights to Sporting Braga goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek.
The 24-year-old Czech Republic international was the subject of a failed bid by Hull City earlier in the window and Benfica have been making enquiries in the past week.
Hull even matched his £25.9m release clause but Hornicek turned down the move.
'We even had one [a concrete approach]. The player himself, Hornicek, refused. There was a proposal from England, from the Premier League, but the player felt he shouldn’t go to that club and we were happy for him to stay,' the Braga president António Salvador confirmed to Portuguese media.

Hornicek was back in action in midweek as he starred in Braga's 1-0 win at Serbian side Zeleznicar Pancevo in their Europa Conference League qualifier.
Newcastle had been pursuing Manchester City's James Trafford but he is set on moving to Leeds United in a deal worth around £45m as he discusses inserting a release clause into his contract.
They had also held a meeting over Brighton keeper Carl Rushworth but ultimately Newcastle had reservations about his lack of top flight experience. Rushworth remains a target for Coventry City, where he was on loan last season. They have had bids worth £25m rejected so far.
Newcastle have now asked about Hornicek and the deal could be agreed quickly if all parties wish to proceed.
Wrexham in for Palace's Imray - but face competition
Wrexham have joined the clubs showing interest in Crystal Palace full-back Danny Imray.
The 22-year-old, who had loan spells with Blackpool and West Bromwich Albion last season, is wanted back by Albion while Stoke City have also posted interest.
Wrexham, though, are continuing to push the bar on their targets as they try to take that next step up into the Premier League.
They also remain in the chase for Leicester City's Harry Souttar. The Australia international has asked to leave but the Foxes want £10million which is deterring suitors such as Sheffield United, Stoke City and more.

Leicester in race against time for No 9
Leicester City are clear favourites to gain promotion from League One but are still to sign a striker - with barely three weeks to go until they kick-off the season against Notts County.
Manager Russell Martin may have overseen a 3-3 draw against La Liga side Malaga in Marbella on Saturday but that didn't mask what he thought the former Premier League champions were missing.
'The topline, both wide positions and a No 9, I think it’s really clear,' said the Foxes' boss when asked about priorities.
They have tried and failed to agree terms with former West Ham striker Danny Ings and, despite his appearance at first-team testing, Jamie Vardy is not planning a return. He still has aspirations to finish at the top.
