Chris Eubank Sr opens up on reuniting with his son after family tragedy 'destroyed' their relationship

Chris Eubank Sr has revealed he recently reunited with his son, Chris Eubank Jr.
The two men from one of British boxing's most famous families have not been on speaking terms for a number of years after previously being inseparable during the early stages of Eubank Jr's career.
Eubank Sr was noticeably absent at last month's two press conferences for his son's grudge match with Conor Benn.
But he has now spoken out about the pair crossing paths last Friday when Eubank Jr's cousin picked up a knockout victory in Brighton, and delivered a positive update on their relationship.
'The moment was meaningful,' Eubank Sr told Ring Magazine. 'I love my son, just as I love all my children.
'Seeing him again, I could tell he's grown. There's a wisdom in his face and demeanour that wasn't there before.

'No matter what has happened, I will always have Jr's back.'
Eubank Sr's words come just days after his son revealed why they went their separate ways.
Appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored alongside Benn to speak about next month's fight, Eubank Jr claimed the death of his brother, Sebastian, who died at the age of 29 on a beach in Dubai in 2021 after suffering a 'massive heart attack', drove a wedge between him and his father.
'You have the situation with my brother passing away. That affected him in a deep way – it affected all of us. Mental health is a real thing,' Eubank Jr explained.
'That incident, coupled with the fact that we were already not seeing eye to eye, destroyed a large part of the relationship. And it still doesn't seem to have recovered.'
The full interview with Eubank Jr and Benn is due to be aired on Friday, but it is unknown when it was recorded.
It appears that Eubank Sr and his son may have met since the interview to begin to repair their relationship.
However, Eubank Sr was critical of his son's stunt at the launch press conference for his fight with Benn where he smashed an egg into his rival's face.
Eubank Jr was subsequently hit with a £100,000 fine, and Eubank Sr was far from impressed with his behaviour.

'I was extremely disappointed by the incident at the press conference where Chris Jr smashed an egg into Conor Benn's face and his choice to use profanity,' he said.
'Such behaviour does not reflect the conduct I have instilled in him. The Eubank legacy is built on discipline, respect, and professionalism, and this incident falls short of those values.'
Benn was joined by his father, Nigel, at both of last month's press conferences and he is expected to be at ringside for the April 26 bout at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It is currently unclear as to whether Eubank Sr, who famously fought Nigel twice in the 1990s, will also be in attendance to cheer on his son.
