Elon Musk has criticized Volodymyr Zelensky, labeling him "evil" for pushing a "forever war" with Russia. Musk's comments came in response to a scathing post by Donald Trump on Truth Social, where the US President targeted Zelensky.
Musk chimed in on X, stating: "Zelensky wants a forever war, a never-ending graft meat grinder. This is evil."
This development follows Trump's decision to pause US military aid to Ukraine, with all equipment not currently in Ukraine being halted and future aid uncertain. It is believed that Trump aims to pressure Zelensky into reaching a peace deal.
However, prospects of this seem bleak after a contentious White House meeting betweenTrump, Vice President JD Vance, and Zelensky.
Trump's frustration grew after Zelensky stated that the end of the war with Russia was "still very, very far away", prompting Trump to write on Truth Social: "This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelensky, and America will not put up with it for much longer."
Trump also claimed that Zelensky "doesn't want there to be peace as long as he has America's backing", reports The Mirror.
Musk further alleged in another post that Zelensky "wants a forever war" to maintain his international spotlight. During a press conference on Monday, Trump hinted that Zelensky's tenure as President of Ukraine might be short-lived if he continued making demands prior to a peace deal.
"It should not be that hard a deal to make. It could be made very fast. Now, maybe somebody doesn't want to make a deal, and if somebody doesn't want to make a deal, I think that person won't be around very long. That person will not be listened to very long," Mr Trump declared to the press at the White House.
However, Mr Zelensky, who has helmed Ukraine for six years, remained resolute in the face of conflict, directing his remarks towards Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
Mr Zelensky implied that if Mr Graham desired influence over Ukrainian governance, he might as well seek Ukrainian citizenship.
