Miley Cyrus reveals why she's grateful the house she shared with Liam Hemsworth burned down

Miley Cyrus reflected on the 'dark time' when she and ex-husband Liam Hemsworth lost her $2.525M four-bedroom Malibu house in the 2018 Woolsey Fire one month before they got married.
'When my house burned down, that was the biggest blessing I've ever had in my life, actually,' the 32-year-old pop star said during a Q&A at her Something Beautiful event Tuesday, according to People.
'Losing everything and being able to rebuild, and to be able to be purposeful and choose every piece that I'm gonna collect or also just about the people in my life.
'And I guess for me, when my house burned down, a lot of my relationships also burned down, and that again just led me to such magic and to have so much gratitude.'
Indeed, Miley (born Destiny) and the Australian 35-year-old - who had a 10-year romance - divorced just eight months later in 2020.
'I think what I would have told my younger self is to appreciate those darker times because, like I said, they are only leading you into the light,' Cyrus noted onstage Manhattan's Metrograph.
The three-time Grammy winner had recorded her first album in 2005 at Rainbowland recording studio located on the two-acre compound.
In 2023, Miley revealed she suffered anxiety attacks at the memory because she was on the South African set of Netflix's Black Mirror when she heard her two-story home was destroyed.
'Actually as my house was burning down I was strapped to a gurney with my hands locked in handcuffs strapped to a bed,' Cyrus recalled on TikTok.
The very next day, the More to Lose songstress had to film her pop star character Ashley O's dance-filled On a Roll music video, shrugging: 'The show must go on!'
In 2021, Miley began dating Liily drummer Maxx Morando, who's one of the eight producers credited on her upcoming album.
Cyrus' ninth studio album Something Beautiful drops May 30 followed by the Tribeca Film Festival world premiere of the 'visual' film version on June 6 at the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan.
The Beautiful That Way singer - who quit touring in 2023 - gushed: 'This album has to start with me loving it and then the love that I have for it, whether you know it or not, it's gonna be coming through the speakers when you're listening.'
Liam and Miley confirmed their split in August 2019 and finalized their divorce in January 2020 after less than a year of marriage.
The on/off couple first began dating in 2010 after meeting on the set of The Last Song and got engaged for the first time in May 2012.
However, they then split up in September 2013 before reuniting in 2016, going on to tie the knot in December 2018 before splitting for good just eight months later.
Meanwhile, Liam is still going strong with his girlfriend since 2019, Australian model Gabriella Brooks.
Liam is believed to have then started dating Gabriella in December 2019 but they didn't make their first red carpet appearance together until November 2020.
The ultra-private couple rarely post about each other on social media, and have only appeared in a handful of photos together.
Gabriella has carved out a career for herself as a model and made her catwalk debut at the 2023 Australia Fashion Week during the Cue fashion show.
Her debut was a landslide success and Cue's brand director Kate Bielenberg gushed over Gabriella's talents at the time.
'Gabby's amazing. She's such great girl and has such a great look,' she said in a statement, adding that she's the definition of 'cool girl vibes'.
'When she came in for castings, she was just so gorgeous and delighted everyone.'
