Caitlin Clark's teammate DeWanna Bonner 'has no interest' in playing for Indiana Fever again and wants a trade

The Indiana Fever roster looks set for a reshuffle after it emerged that DeWanna Bonner is desperate for a trade away from the team.
Bonner was only signed by the team in February on a one-year deal - at the time, it seemed a smart move to put Caitlin Clark with the two-time WNBA champion as the Fever tried to build on her stunning rookie year.
But so far, the Fever have struggled to hit top form - although Tuesday night's 96-84 win over Seattle Storm was a step in the right direction. However Clark, who missed two weeks of the season with a thigh strain, only scored six points on the night.
But hours before Clark and her team hit the court on the west coast, Front Office Sports claimed Bonner 'has no interest' in playing for the Fever again after being ruled out of first-team action for personal reasons.
She started the first three games and then was benched in favor of Lexie Hull before the team said that issues away from the court had ruled her out. Bonner, 37, made six appearances off the bench.
The report on Tuesday adds that the fit between the Fever and Bonner was 'off' and that, perhaps unsurprisingly, Bonner expected to be a starter.

As per FoS, Bonner would favor a trade to either Atlanta Dream or the Phoenix Mercury, where her fiancee Alyssa Thomas plays. Bonner also won her two WNBA titles there in 2009 and 2014.
Thomas was asked Tuesday about a potential trade for Bonner on Tuesday but refused to answer.
Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White, meanwhile, simply said: 'I haven’t had a lot of conversations with her recently, really focused on the team we have right here.'
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, one of Clark's most ardent fans, gave a brutal verdict on the news. He wrote on X: 'Great career. She was beyond useless for Fever. Wish her best of luck.'
Speaking in April, Clark said she was thrilled to call Bonner her teammate and said she wanted to help her end her career with another WNBA title.
'She’s such a selfless leader. She’s here to win. She says that, but she really means it,' Clark said.
'DB’s been tremendous … not only as a leader, she’s a tremendous basketball player, too. She’s won championships. She knows what it is.'
Clark later told The Athletic about Bonner: 'This is the end of her career. She deserves it.'

Bonner, for her part, spoke effusively about Clark and seemed to be relishing being teammates with the WNBA's biggest star when she spoke to media back in April.
'She’s such a dynamic player,' Bonner said. 'She does a lot for this team and we understand that.
'I think everybody here just wants to make her life easier, and she wants to make everybody else’s life easier. I'm ready to put it all together. Our relationship is going great, I love C.'
Clark and her team have lost their last two games and urgently need to return to winning ways. They are currently seventh in the WNBA standings.
