How she keeps her relationship with Prince Harry alive
One of the most eye-catching parts of the interview was Meghan discussing her relationship with Prince Harry. Since quitting life as senior royals in 2020 and moving to Montecito, the couple have been subject to much speculation about their relationship; however, if anyone had any concerns about it, it is safe to say Meghan has squashed those.
Talking about how they keep their relationship alive, Meghan said that the duke and duchess try to date as they did in their pre-marriage days. As reported by The Mirror, the duchess said that when she was a nanny for two Irish Catholic families in her college days, the father of one of the families told her she needed to find a man who would tell her exactly what he said to his wife when they wed: "I vow to always date my wife."
Meghan fondly recalled telling Harry, "And I told H that when we started dating, he goes, 'I vow to always date you'."
It is believed the couple have stuck to the promise Harry made before he “put a ring” on it, as Meghan herself said.
Archie and Lilibet’s accents
Meghan also surprised royal fans in the interview by talking about her children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
In particular, the duchess revealed some new information about the accents they have, which seem to be a mix of British and American.
She said: “Oh, some of the words that they still say with a British accent. So they'll say, 'Zebra,' and what else do they say? They have these little moments where it comes out.
“They have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him (Harry), and I think it's adorable. Zebra is a good one."
Why Meghan loves hospitality
Meghan, 43, also opened up on the show about why she loves hospitality and cooking for her nearest and dearest.
Speaking about the Netflix show, Meghan said: “With the show, what hospitality felt like for me is how do you make people feel comfortable, how do you show up for them.”
Meghan also spoke about how, since the COVID-19 pandemic, people have missed human connection, and she enjoys seeing her friends once more and showing them how much she cares.
Meghan made cookies for everyone
The duchess also took everyone by surprise with a sweet gesture that reportedly had never been done before - making cookies for everyone in the audience, including the cast and crew of The Drew Barrymore Show.
The duchess said Harry, Archie and one of her close friends helped her with the baking to ensure they managed to finish it in time.
Meghan and Harry’s daily schedule
In the interview, Meghan also gave us an insight into what life really is like for herself and Prince Harry behind the walls of their Montecito mansion.
Since quitting royal life, very few details about their daily schedules have been revealed, but the duchess is now giving us an insight into what the couple's everyday life looks like.
She said: “We love doing school drop off and pick up for the kids. Our days are busy with meetings but we have lunch together every day, that middle of the day catch up.
“We just make it a point to date each other.”
