Matheus Cunha led a singalong with Wolves fans as he bid farewell to Molineux ahead of an anticipated summer move to Old Trafford.

Supporters had chanted 'Who the f*** are Man United' during the game but there were emotional scenes at the end as the Brazilian hugged team-mates before taking applause from the Sir Jack Hayward Stand.

'Today is a day to cry. I spoke to the players and it was very emotional,' said manager Vitor Pereira.

'It is the best group I've worked with. Some players may now leave and I wish them the best.'

Though Cunha didn't score, his side claimed a point when Marshall Munetsi's cracker cancelled out a 20th Premier League goal for Bryan Mbuemo.

Brentford had arrived with slim hopes of qualifying for Europe but wins for Chelsea and Brighton elsewhere ultimately meant their result was immaterial.

They struck first after 20 minutes when Rayan Ait-Nouri lost possession and captain Christian Norgaard squared for Mbuemo who stabbed home from just inside the box.

'There should be interest him,' smiled Bees manager Thomas Frank about his sought-after forward.

Wolves, who were in the bottom three when Vitor Pereira took over in December, almost levelled when Mark Flekken denied Nelson Semedo and Goncalo Guedes miscued in front of goal.

The equaliser finally arrived after 75 minutes. 

Goalkeeper Jose Sa kicked long and Jorgen Stand Larsen flicked on for Munetsi to lash home.

Bees defender Nathan Collins ended as the only outfield player to have been on the pitch every minute for their club this season.

Frank, who has been linked with Spurs, applauded the full width of the away end at full-time but denied it was a goodbye gesture. 

'I try to be consistent and go to our fans every single time,' he said.
