Female knife attacker, 30, injures two passers-by in square used for Munich Oktoberfest beer festival - before being shot by police

A female knife attacker has reportedly injured two people in Munich's famed Oktoberfest square before she was shot by police.
The 30-year-old perpetrator is said to have first stabbed a 56-year-old man in the German city's Westendstrasse.
She then went on to attack a 25-year-old woman on Schwanthalerhöhe are of the Bavarian city.
The Bulgarian woman was shot by police near Theresienweise, where Munich's world-renowned Oktoberfest takes place, at around 8pm (CEST).
Emergency surgery was performed on the woman following the incident, but according to local media outlets, she has since died from her injuries.
According to a police spokesperson, the victims and the attacker are not believed to have been known to one another.
The force have also said there is no further danger posed to the public.
Armed officers as well as Munich's Criminal Investigation Department remain on the scene, which is currently cordoned off to the public.


Sniffer dogs remain on the hunt for clues at the Oktoberfest site, as bandages were seen laying the ground.
The motives of the attacker, who is said to have lived nearby the scene, are currently unknown.
Joachim Herrman, Bavaria's Interior Minister, told the outlet: 'I am very grateful to the Munich police for their swift intervention and stopping the knife attacker.
'Her death is regrettable, but unfortunately, it was probably unavoidable.'
